Mad Men Star Welcomes Baby Boy

Craig Barritt/WireImage
Mad Men star Rich Sommer and his wife Virginia welcomed the newest addition to their growing family on Tuesday, reports People magazine.
The actor, who brilliantly plays Harry Crane on the hit AMC series is now the proud papa of a bouncing baby boy they named Patrick Ryan Sommer. He is little brother to their daughter Beatrice, 2.
“We are loving hanging with our happy, healthy baby boy, and appreciate our family and friends joining us in celebrating this exciting time,” Sommer, 32, told the magazine. “Also, he looks way better than I do in a onesie.”
Healthy Patrick weighed in at 7 lbs., 9 oz., and measured 21 inches long.
Sommer says he won’t be acting like his alcohol guzzling, problem plagued character with his baby boy.
“I’ll try to remain coherent at all times so that I’m not the terrible father that welcomes his son into the world in a fog of pain and alcohol,” he said.
Sending kudos to the growing family was pal Joel McHale, who tweeted over the weekend: “Huge huge congrats 2 @richsommer of Mad Men & his family. He & his awesome wife had baby boy 2nite. Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!”

For some artists, winning an Oscar would represent reaching a pinnacle. For Ryan Bingham, who took home the Academy Award for “The Weary Kind,” his hauntingly beautiful theme song for the acclaimed film Crazy Heart, it instead represented a crossroads and a decision about which path to take. “When there are a lot of people around saying ‘look, you have to capitalize on this and do something really commercial,’ you might think about it for a second,” admits the LA… More >>
Which TV Star Could Be Tiger Woods’ New Neighbor?

TIMOTHY A. CLARY/AFP/Getty Images
Tiger Woods is about to get his first taste of star-studded Manhattan.
If the reports are true, we’re positive the newly minted city slicker won’t be disappointed to find he’s just moved in right next to this gorgeous television starlet.
But will Blake Lively be OK when she discovers Elin Nordegren’s ex-hubby is just around the corner?
Because their buildings are so close, she could run into the golfer during her many walks with Penny, her adorable Maltipoo.
We’re just hoping they avoid any awkward encounters, considering Blake brilliantly spoofed Elin on Saturday Night Live.
Tiger’s new digs on Hudson Street have been identified by the New York Daily News as the Printing House, an older building in TriBeCa, which a real-estate insider describes to E! News as an “unusual choice.”
“It’s disgusting,” says the source, who has seen the interior. “It’s so odd he’d choose that building. Many parts of it haven’t been renovated since the ’80s and it’s very dirty. One wonders why on earth he’d pick a place in there.”
According to the Daily News, Woods was spotted unloading his own BMW in front of the building on Sunday night. They reported that he kept a “super-low profile” while carting boxes and golf clubs inside.
In March, 23-year-old Blake, who plays hottie Serena van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl, was spotted apartment hunting downtown. According to the New York Post, she checked out some $3 million apartments at the Fairchild building, but ended up buying in another building nearby.
Maybe if Tiger behaves, he can borrow some sugar.

Why Is Jennifer Aniston Still a Movie Star?

Humberto Carreno/startraksphoto.com
Here’s a question: Why does Jennifer Aniston keep getting high-profile film gigs when her films (with very few exceptions, like Marley & Me) are stinkers?
—Freddie B., via Facebook
You clearly speak of The Switch, among other gems, but come now. Movies about misplaced semen are so fresh and unexplored, aren’t they? And nobody can deliver them with that special all-American-jilted-cheerleader glow of Aniston’s! Hater.
Anyway, I have the secret behind Jen’s seemingly unnatural lifespan in filmdom, and it only partially involves a satanic grimoire and the blood of 40 virgins:
The Switch was an official bomb: It made only $8.4 on its opening weekend. But apparently, Satan—or someone—keeps providing Aniston with just enough ticket buyers to keep her alive in Hollywood. Yes, there was Marley & Me, which made more than $242 million (worldwide), and yes, that is considered a hit.
But it hasn’t been Aniston’s only recent success—believe it, or not.
“The Switch isn’t going to earn Aniston any gold stars in Tinseltown,” Exhibitor Relations box office analyst Jeff Bock explains. “In fact, her solo rom-com career—where she has top billing over her male costar, like last year’s Love Happens, has always been a bit of a box office bust.
“However, when paired with a high profile [actor], such as Vince Vaughn, Jim Carrey or Owen Wilson, she shines.”
Proof? Sure: The Bounty Hunter, which costarred Gerard Butler, has grossed a global $136 million on a budget of $40 million.
How does that translate for Aniston’s future? Well, there are still plenty of studios that will bank on her. And that makes her, as the Hollywood Reporter recently put it, “second-tier, but reliably second-tier.”
“High-profile, high-concept films will always be her bread and butter, as she certainly fills a good-girl niche in Hollywood,” Bock says.
If that irks you, then do not read this next sentence: Aniston has a solid dozen movies in the works, at least three of which will be released in the next year or so.
