SHOW PEOPLE to Receive Star Treatment at the Academy
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present a restored version of the comedic silent film SHOW PEOPLE (1928) on Thursday, November 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Kevin Brownlow, who received an Honorary Award (an Oscar® statuette), will introduce the film, which was restored under his supervision and features a stereo musical score by composer Carl Davis.
Produced and directed by King Vidor, SHOW PEOPLE served as a key inspiration for the 2011 Best Picture winner, THE ARTIST. Venturing behind the scenes into Hollywood filmmaking of the 1920s, SHOW PEOPLE features not only wonderfully comedic performances by Marion Davies and William Haines, but a unique string of cameo appearances by the biggest stars of the day, including Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks and Norma Talmadge. Davies stars as Peggy Pepper, who arrives in Hollywood from Georgia to claim the film stardom that her father believes is rightfully hers. Haines portrays a comic performer who helps her find work even though Peggy sees herself as a “dramatic” actress.
Brownlow is a film historian and preservationist widely regarded as the preeminent historian of the silent film era. His books include THE PARADE’S GONE BY…; THE WAR, THE WEST, AND THE WILDERNESS; HOLLYWOOD: THE PIONEERS; BEHIND THE MASK OF INNOCENCE; DAVID LEAN; and Mary Pickford REDISCOVERED. Brownlow has written and directed such documentaries as HOLLYWOOD, UNKNOWN CHAPLIN, Buster Keaton: A HARD ACT TO FOLLOW, HAROLD LLOYD: THE THIRD GENIUS, D.W. GRIFFITH: FATHER OF FILM, CECIL B. DEMILLE: AMERICAN EPIC, and GARBO. Most famous among his many silent film restoration projects is Abel Gance’s 1927 epic NAPOLEON.

Just hours after cops announced Nadya Suleman would not be charged with endangering her kids, Octo-Mom was the guest of honor at a drag queen show in New York Friday night. It wasn’t pretty.
Sitting on the stage at the XL nightclub, Octo-Mom flashed her breasts, pretended to nurse two plastic dolls, fed one of the “babies” from a bottle of vodka, and screened a clip from her porno film — all while the drag queens cheered and laughed.

Several of the queens participating in the Hot Mess Drag Review tried to get Nadya to expose a little more of her ample chest by pulling the dolls away. And even Nadya seemed a bit embarrassed by the clip of her porn film, an eyewitness tells us.
The outrageous exhibition came mere hours after the La Habre, CA police department announced it would not be filing charges against Suleman.

As RadarOnline.com reported, on Thursday, two of her former nannies went on television in Los Angeles, accusing Suleman of being such a negligent parent, one of her older boys was sexually abusing his younger sisters.
Suleman denied the allegation at the time, and police investigators agree no crime was committed.

Capping off another busy week with a television appearance, Miley Cyrus was on-hand as one of the celebrities featured for Friday night’s (October 12) installment of “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”
The 19-year-old superstar rocked a racy, black sleeveless top with a city skyline print skirt as she grabbed a seat on the Burbank studio stage alongside Jay for her sitdown interview – which is set to air later tonight at 11:35/10:35C on NBC.
Aside from visiting “The Tonight Show,” Miley took to Twitter to treat fans to a sneak peek from her guest appearance on “Two and a Half Men” (of which she spoke about kissing cast member Angus T Jones with Leno).
Set to air next Thursday, the former “Hannah Montana” star wrote, “Here’s the 1st look at my appearance on @TwoHalfMen_CBS! Don’t miss it Thurs Oct 18 8:30/7:30c on CBS!”

Kris Jenner Eyeing A Daytime Talk Show

Brace yourselves! Kardashian momager Kris Jenner is looking to make the move from reality television to hosting a daytime talk show, RadarOnline.com is reporting.
According to Deadline.com, Kris is in talks with Twentieth Television and there are always negotiations for a test run to air on Fox TV stations next summer.

“Everyone wants to do a test with the Fox TV stations,” a spokesperson for the stations told the site, declining further comment.
Kris is no stranger to daytime television — she has previously guest hosted on CBS’ The Talk.

One notable former reality-TV star who made the jump to daytime talk show host in the past thanks to a test run by Fox is Bethenny Frankel, who got picked up by the network for her show Bethenny.
