Peter Joseph Announces Next Film Project, INTERREFLECTIONS

Controversial Social Activist and Filmmaker Peter Joseph, creator of the world-renowned “Zeitgeist Film Series,” which has been translated into over 40 languages; screened in over 150 countries and seen in total by an estimated 300 Million people – has announced he is closing his prior socially conscious film Series as a Trilogy – only to launch a brand new film set titled: “InterReflections.”

The first of the new series, “InterReflections I” [http://www.interreflectionsmovie.com/], is due for release in late 2013 with a new narrative-based, live-action style. In an interview with Peter Joseph, he stated: “The new film series is a fantasy style work that takes place in multiple time frames, using the idea of ‘hindsight’ as a driving motif to inspire the audience to think differently about the world we have today… and the world we could have tomorrow.”

Peter Joseph, a musician and performance artist who created his first film “Zeitgeist: The Movie” as merely a solo performance work that exploded inadvertently online in 2007, has evolved to researching and giving lectures on culture and ecological sustainability five years later. In 2009 he founded the now global “Zeitgeist Movement” which seeks to create a new social system based on scientific understandings rather than market-based ones and today, apart from his ongoing media creations in support of such social issues, he works with a global community of engineers, artists, activists and scientists in this pursuit for a new, more humane social arrangement for all the world’s people.

As a filmmaker Joseph has turned his back on the Hollywood, profit-isolated distribution format and works to make all his expressions available for free on the Internet, coupled with free DVD/Blu-Ray torrent downloads.

“Everything I create is freely available not only for viewing and downloading so people can create their own DVDs without purchase, I also allow open distribution for non-profit means outright. I have a deep dislike for the income system and even though survival in the world today requires income, I choose to give the audience the option of support if they care to,” says Joseph.

While The Zeitgeist Film Series was a documentary set that explored a vast range of cultural issues via traditional style interviews with experts, “InterReflections I” leaves the documentary style behind and instead explores an experimental style that encompasses fantasy and abstraction.

“The new film set is, indeed, born out of my prior series in that the nature of the subject matter is similar by extension. However, as a filmmaker, I have changed my view regarding what really inspires people and I feel the ‘abstract arts,’ if you will, rather than mere cold academia, hold a powerful place in changing people. We can tell people technical data all day long and some will absorb it… but the arts have a mysterious way of sneaking behind people’s values and planting seeds for new ideas. Apart from the feature film series and my online satire expression: ‘Culture in Decline,’ I also curate an annual media festival in Los Angeles – The Zeitgeist Media Festival – which is based upon similar issues. I try to walk the line between art and intellect, academia and poetry. Balance is key.”

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Talks Dating Zooey Deschanel with Playboy

Fans have constantly brought up the idea of Joseph Gordon-Levitt dating his “500 Days of Summer” co-star Zooey Deschanel, but it appears that’s never going to happen.

In a recent interview with Playboy, “The Dark Knight Rises” star said, ““It’s awkward when people say that. Zooey and I just think it’s funny. We’ve been friends for 10 years.”

The 31-year-old actor continued, “She loves movies, music and art, and she’s incredibly knowledgeable about that stuff. She’s turned me on to so many good movies and so much good music. It’s just fun to have conversations, watch movies with her and stuff like that.”

The brunette beauty filed for divorce from Ben Gibbard last January and has been dating screenwriter Jamie Linden and although Joseph doesn’t see a future with her, he has set his standards for potential dates.

The Hollywood hunk told the publication, “Making checklists of things you’re looking for in a person is the numero uno thing you can do to guarantee you’ll be alone forever,” adding, “You just have to pay attention, keep your eyes open, listen to people and be present. I guess what I look for in a girl is someone who’s doing that too.”

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Covers GQ August 2012

With his new movie “The Dark Knight Rises” set to hit theaters on July 20th, Joseph Gordon-Levitt upped his exposure by taking over the cover of the August 2012 issue of GQ magazine.

The 31-year-old actor looked handsome in a snazzy three-piece suit for the Nathaniel Goldberg shot front page while talking about topics including skipping his high school prom and his distaste for those who fawn over celebrities.

Highlights from Joseph’s interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to GQ!

On not going to his high school prom:
“I thought the girls my age were very frustrating. They were, like, looking in their compact mirrors and shit, and I thought that was evil.”

On how Hollywood is crumbling:
“The entertainment business as it has been is not going to be around that much longer. The way it’s going is, there’s going to be artists, and they’ll make their shit, and they’ll connect to their audience, and you don’t need any of the middlemen—the studios or the agents.”

On how he hates Americans’ fawning over celebrity:
“I really don’t like this notion that some people are more important than other people. These stories about these elevated people called ‘celebrities’ teaches you”—and by “you” he meant regular, nonfamous folks—”that what you have to say doesn’t matter. It’s degrading.”

“The Dark Knight Rises” director Christopher Nolan on Gordon-Levitt:
“He has a tremendous charisma and that incredible kind of positivity that can’t be faked.” Which makes him perfect, of course, for Commissioner Gordon’s protégé. “We really needed somebody with a sense of idealism to contrast with Gordon’s weariness. I thought of Joe first and foremost.”

Scarlett Johansson & Joseph Gordon-Levitt Team Up for “Don Jon’s Addiction”

Knocking out scenes for their new project, Scarlett Johansson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt paired up on the Hackensack, NJ set of “Don Jon’s Addiction” earlier this afternoon (June 27).

The 27-year-old blonde beauty wore a casual outfit consisting of perfectly fitted jeans and two layered blue tops as she and the “Inception” stud chatted it up between takes – with Levitt both acting in and directing the comedy about a contemporary, porn-addicted Don Juan-type lead character.

Aside from his ambitious actor/director effort, Joseph can be seen in a just-released international trailer for his upcoming Sony Pictures motion picture, “Looper.”

The Rian Johnson crime/thriller takes place in the year 2042 while finding a mob hitman assassinate targets that arrive from the future of 2072. For the hitman, this is all just a job until his next target becomes himself from the future.

Check out the new clip in the player below and look out for “Looper” when it hits theaters on September 28.
